Experiential Learning

promote learning and living skills

Experiential learning is another way to say learning by doing; being an active participant in skills and activities that promote increased learning and living skills. The process of reflection on the experiences and activities to build and increase internal and external skills is the goal of LEAD Recovery Center experiential activities.

Recreational activity and planned adventures provide opportunities to draw on situations that create unpredictable outcomes (such as catching a fish), success (catching the fish), and the many aspects in between are identified and used to draw similarities in life situations. LEAD Recovery Center provides many experiential learning activities such as fishing trips, hiking trips, outdoor adventures, camping, skiing, frisbee golf, etc.
